Sealants is the acrylic coating that protects the chewing surfaces from tooth decay in children. Sealants keep food and germs out of the nooks and crannies of the child’s teeth lowering the risk of decay. These sealants are applied primarily to the permanent teeth.

The procedure is really quick and easy for the child. The teeth are cleaned and a special gel is applied on the teeth for just a few seconds. The teeth are then rinsed and then dried. After the teeth are dried, the sealant is then applied  and dried by a special light to help it harden.
